FOR THE NEXT TWO LESSONS DANCERS WILL NEED TO DO LOTS OF REVIEWING.
If you can teach two nights a week, you will find the above can be taught in 10 weeks
ACA recommends two or more hours a week for this suggested twenty week lesson plan.
Some Callers will want to change or defer certain calls until later to fit their teaching style.
We talk to callers that say they have a hard time getting dancers to do the center part of load the boat.
A suggestion have the dancers in two couple squares. Tell them that are four parts for the centers in load the boat
Have them count each part as they go through them.
Part 1- PASS THRU
Part 2 Tell them now to turn their back on the dancer beside them.(this is-what they do when they face out
. Part 3 Tell them to touch the hand of the new dancer beside them and PARTNER TRADE.
Part 4 PASS THRU. (No one has trouble with 4 parts for the end dancer.)This way they all learn the hard part at once)
Now have the dancers to HALF SASHAY and do all four center parts again with two couple squares.
If you will try this you may find that LOAD THE BOAT is a easy teach.
